His Story |
Raúl became interested in the possibility of starting a recycling program at his OXXO store. When he looked into what would be required in order to install containers for recyclable plastics, paper and metal, he discovered that the fee for the license was beyond his means, and he decided to let go of the idea.
The following year, Raúl learned about the World Villages Project and its interest in recycling for the benefit of the health of planet Earth and the species which inhabit it. He mentioned that the license would be the first step and that then containers for recyclables would have to be purchased. The World Villages Project decided to help. We are very happy to report that the permit for installing recycling bins has been obtained. The purchase and installation of 3 bins is now underway. The bins will bear the OXXO logo and should both begin the process of recycling in La Joya and raise awareness about recycling in the community. A big "Thank-you!" to Raúl! |
